About Lantern

A map for the parts of yourself you were handed late.

What it is

Lantern is an exploration game for adults who learned about their ADHD, or ADHD and autism, later in life. You travel a map at your own pace, meet people, read short pieces, try small experiments, and a journal writes itself as you go.

There are no streaks, no scores and no clock. Coming back after a long time away is fine.

What it is not

Lantern is for learning and exploring. It is not therapy, assessment or treatment, and it does not replace a clinician.

It will not tell you what you are, and it does not give advice about medication. The Guide is an AI character and says so.

The help door

The lantern button marked “Help” is on every screen. It opens over whatever you are doing, so nothing is lost, and it lists people you can call or text where you are. There is also a help page that works without JavaScript.

Who made it

A small team in Aotearoa New Zealand. Names and reviewers to be added before the pilot opens.
